I look forward to this opportunity to share with you more about myself and why I believe I’m the best candidate for the role of Hamilton County Criminal Court Judge.
As a criminal defense attorney with Houston & Alexander, I’ve tried cases in front of every state and federal judge in Hamilton County including Circuit Court, Criminal Court, Juvenile Court and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. I’ve also handled matters before the Tennessee Court of Appeals and Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as filed petitions with the U.S. Supreme Court.
I very much enjoy lending my legal expertise to impactful civic organizations and individuals in need. I have served as both president and volunteer for Legal Aid of East Tennessee, which provides free legal services to elderly citizens, veterans, victims of domestic violence and other underserved populations. My opportunity to guide and advise those who may otherwise go without proper legal counsel has deeply enriched my life, personally and professionally.
Though I’ve called Tennessee home for most of my life, including my undergraduate years at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, I still call myself a tourist in my own city. I never miss an opportunity to enjoy a new hiking trail, visit some of our most beloved attractions or dine at a new restaurant. I’m passionate about sharing new experiences with my husband and young daughter as Chattanooga continues to grow.
